the sky black with smoke
Jul. 8th, 2004 01:29 amI'm getting foot surgery (again) on friday to get rid of (another) plantar wart. In preparation for this, I went out and bought the Family Guy Season 1/2 DVD set. I figure 600+ minutes of FG will be enough to sate me. and if not, i'm sure they'll give me tylenol3 (or something equally ludicrously strong).
So when I went to Best Buy (the one in the sphincter of South Florida, USA), it was really smoky in my neighborhood, which is not the actual sphincter, but let's say is the taint of Miami. I thought wow...kinda hot for fog. Then I thought: hmm...smells like smoke...hope nothing's burning down. The closer I get to Best Buy, the smokier it gets -- to the point that you literally can't see 200 feet down the street. So I grab my DVDs and a cherry coke and pay and get out and home and ask my best friend to find out "What the HELL is going on?" and apparently there was a huge fire in the everglades, by the Indian territory. I know it's huge, because the 'glades are quite literally a good 50 minutes -- in a fast car with a heavy foot -- away from where I was.
the best music you will never hear can be streamed from http://www.zbconline.com/tp-archive.php
truly, a gorgeous collection. I truly envy Jon Whitney's music collection (and boston's radio staions...miami radio is pure SHIT.)
